Independent Travel Coordinator: London

We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working individual to join our fast growing team, to lead a team of travel trainers to provide a high quality, independence-enhancing service to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Key aspects of the role include, meeting and assessing young people, introducing the service to parents and schools, conducting risk assessments and proactively managing the team.

HCT Group is a £45M turnover business that runs transport services across the UK.  It is a social enterprise because it reinvests surpluses made from contracts won on the competitive market in further transport services and projects in the communities that it serves.  We provide one-to-one training to young people with special educational needs and disabilities, with the goal of enabling them to travel on public transport independently, gaining independence and life skills that significantly improve their life chances.

Successful applicants will have experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs, have undertaken risk and individual assessments and have strong communication skills across diverse audiences.

Jobs will be based in Lambeth and Camden and combine some office based desk work with assessments (in homes / schools / local community).  You must also be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Engineering Supervisor, Hackney, £comp

We are seeking to appoint an Engineering Supervisor at our busy Ash Grove Depot. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the post-holder will control day to day activities in the workshop, ensuring compliance with TfL, DVSA and company guidelines, inspecting repairs for quality and road worthiness. This will involve planning and allocating workload, ensuring day to day service requirements and vehicle availability needs are met.

The ideal candidate will have either previous supervisory experience in a heavy vehicle workshop or be an exceptional engineer ready to take the first step into management.  They will also have a good working understanding of DVSA standards, TfL performance indicators and hold a minimum NVQ 3 in PSV / Heavy vehicle engineering.  We are looking for a candidate who works well under pressure, can work flexibly as some weekend/ shift work is required.

Workshop Manager, Hackney, £comp

We are seeking to appoint a Workshop Manager at our busy Ash Grove Depot. Reporting to the Fleet Engineer, the post-holder will control and plan workload in the workshop - including inspection and MoTs across a fleet of 220 vehicles. They will also ensure that staffing levels and costs are kept tightly controlled, monitor and drive performance in the workshop, and ensure all legal and company documentation and systems are kept to a high standard – including a duty of care for Health and Safety in the workshop environment

The Ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of DVSA/ Passenger transport sector, including a minimum of an NVQ in Heavy vehicle maintenance. They will also hold CPC in Passenger transport and be an IRTEC Accredited inspector - or be willing and capable of obtaining these. The successful candidate will also have an excellent knowledge of TfL Performance indicators, able to undertake audits of systems/maintenance and have the skills and confidence to challenge unsafe actions and poor repairs within the engineering team.

Day Cleaner, Bristol, £comp

We are seeking to appoint a Day Cleaner at our Parsons Street Depot in Bristol. The post holder will be responsible for making sure the vehicles are cleaned and maintained to a high standard -opening and closing the depot, covering driving duties as required.

A PCV Driving Licence and Driver Qualification Card are desirable for this role, however candidates will be trained if they do not have one. You will also need to undertake an enhanced CRB check.

Drivers, Waltham Forest, London, £comp, 25 hrs per week

We are recruiting drivers to work on our contracts providing Special Educational Needs transport in Waltham Forest.

Based out of our Walthamstow Avenue Depot near the Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium, we offer a competitive rate of pay, an average of 25 hours per week during school terms times, approx 39 weeks per year. Additional overtime may also be available. Annual leave to be taken during school holidays.

Drivers will require a full D1 or D category PCV licence, relevant CPC qualification, and must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check. Experience of working with people with disabilities would be a distinct advantage. A full job description is available here.

If you have a full, clean PCV licence and are interested in working from our Ash Grove bus depot in Hackney - or our Walthamstow Avenue depot in Walthamstow - we would be delighted to hear from you.

MyBus drivers, Leeds and Wakefield depots, from £9.01 per hour

CT Plus Yorkshire currently has a number of vacancies at its Leeds and Wakefield depots for qualified PCV drivers to deliver its MyBus home to school services.

A variety of vacancies currently exist as term time only drivers operating from our Leeds depot. Applicants must hold a valid Category D entitlement to drive PCV vehicles on their license, have no more than 6 penalty points and have completed at least 3 modules of their driver CPC qualification. They will also be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check as the posts will involve working with children.

We offer competitive rates of pay, starting from £9.01 per hour as well as training and other benefits.
